April 16 Participants in the First World Buddhist Forum began a grand prayer for world peace at Putuoshan, one of the four most sacred Buddhist sites in China, at 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

108 venerable representatives co-host the Budda ceremony to pray for world peace.

Over 1,000 people including many well-known Buddhists and scholars are participating in the forum in Hangzhou and Zhoushan cities, Zhejiang Province, which began last Thursday.
